About us
We are an air rifle target club based in rural north Hampshire. As a small but growing club, we bring a friendly and hands-on experience for new and existing shooters alike, within a safe environment
HOW WE STARTED
Having been shooting for a few years and being members of other clubs we wanted somewhere different where we could have access to more than just a standard practice range. Our local shotgun shooting ground, ‘Frobury Farm Shooting’ were happy for us to use their woodland for our new club and in 2019 Frobury Field Target was born.
With a small group of likeminded shooters, we invested in some targets, made brackets, borrowed strimmers etc and began building permanent woodland practice areas.
WHAT WE OFFER
We have a practice area (known as a plink) and a small bench for setting up rifles, a permanent course with 50+ targets set out in the beautiful woodland.
We also have use of a clubhouse with toilets and hot-drinks which we use on event days. We also hold regular competitions during the year.
WHO WE CATER FOR
The low physical demands of field target, and shooting in general, makes it an easily accessible sport applicable to shooters young and old. We offer a friendly environment in which to practice or compete, and we can offer advice on all aspects of shooting such as technique, rifle purchase or setting up your kit.
We welcome new or experienced shooters from Field Target (FT), Hunter Field Target (HFT), or those simply wanting to shoot a few ‘tin chickens’ and relax on a Sunday morning with likeminded people
AFFILIATIONS
We are affiliated to our regional governing body: the Central Southern Field Target Association (CSFTA) which is on the board of the British Field Target Association (BFTA). We are also affiliated and fully insured through the national governing body: National Small Bore Association (NSRA).
COMPETITIONS
As a member of regional and national associations we regularly take part in organised shoots both locally and nationally.
We also hold our own club league during the summer months and have an annual ‘Frobury Festive’ shoot held at Christmas which we open to visitors.
Competitions can be a fun experience no matter what type of rifle you shoot and can become very addictive. They are also a great way to meet likeminded people in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
OUR MEMBERS
Our members come from all walks of life and can have many years of experience or are completely new to the sport.
We welcome all of our new members and everyone will undergo thorough safety briefing followed by a probationary period to ensure they understand rifle safety.
